NOTE: This page is for those registering to play with Christchurch Lions.

All are welcome from the youngest players interested in a dynamic and fun team sport, to adults of all ages who are looking to try something new and stay fit.

Our focus is on engaging and encouraging our members to participate in inline hockey, teamwork, and the collegial spirit of the club. We provide team training and player development and facilitate team and individual participation in competition at a local, regional, national and international level.

Note that all memberships must be approved by the Club's Committee before they become active, and registering indicates acceptance of the Lions Code of Conduct.

Note that Club Membership Dues will be invoiced by the club early in the year.

JUNIORS (5-15)

Junior sessions are for those 5yo to 15yo, or others by agreement (eg some under-5s begin playing sooner).

Junior Sessions:

  • Monday Training

    • 10U: 5.30pm-6.30pm​

    • 12U+14U: 6.00pm-7.00pm

  • Wednesday Games

    • 5.30pm-7.00pm (varies)

We strongly recommend players attend both sessions.​

We use a concession card system for all junior sessions.

Club Dues: $40​ per year​

The club membership ("dues") is paid annually and covers all the costs of running the club, access to club gear on an “as available” basis, and other costs.​​​

Seniors (16+)

Senior sessions are for those 16 or over, or others by agreement of the committee (eg some younger players "play up").

Senior Sessions:

  • Monday Scrimmage

    • 7pm-8.30pm​

  • Tuesday Training​

    • 6-7pm: Skills Training (all)

    • 7-8pm: Rep Teams Training

  • Wednesday League Games

    • ​7pm or 8pm​​​​​​​
      ​

Scrimmage is informal and fun. Players for training/league sign up for the full term.

Senior costs

Scrimmage: $15 via Paywave

Training: $139 per term

Weds League: $175 per term

There are sometimes Casual spaces available for Weds League - $25 ea.

IHNZ is Inline Hockey NZ, the national body for Inline Hockey in New Zealand. If you intend to play beyond the local club-run activities, you will need to register as an IHNZ member as well (this is done via the club - contact us for more information).

You can come along to three sessions without cost or commitment to see if it's for you. Then we have lots of options including training sessions, a Development Squad and more.
